Hoe kun je AI inzetten voor onderzoeksjournalistiek? Die vraag staat centraal in het onderzoeksproject It’s a Match waarin ik samen met ethici, juristen, data-en artificiële intelligentie engineers en journalisten de mogelijkheden en randvoorwaarden voor onderzoeksjournalistieke AI in kaart te breng.

Opinie: AI hoort in journalistieke beroepscode

Met collega-onderzoekers Danielle Arets en Bart Wernaart pleit ik in een opiniestuk in NRC Handelsblad voor meer reflectie over richtlijnen voor AI in de journalistiek. Kritisch kijken naar de inzet van AI en de gevolgen ervan is essentieel. Op basis van het artikel werd door de onderzoekers afgelopen maand met diverse redacties gesproken over het aanpassen/ aanscherpen van de code en het opstellen van richtlijnen.

Workshops Generatieve AI en eigen AI-onderzoek

Met Fontys-collega Marius Brugman geef ik workshops over generatieve AI aan eigen collega's en het werkveld. Afgelopen mei spraken we bij Omroep Brabant. In de workshop worden de mogelijkheden en uitdagingen van de technologie belicht. Daarnaast verzorg ik kennissessies naar aanleiding van het onderzoeksproject It's a Match.

Maatschappelijke Kosten Baten Analyse van AI

In dit onderzoeksproject brengen we de maatschappelijke, ecologische en juridische kosten van AI-diensten en systemen in kaart, zodat er gerichtere keuzes kunnen worden gemaakt voor het al dan niet inzetten van AI. Vanuit het lectoraat Journalistiek wordt het onderzoek in samenwerking met onderzoeker Bart van Bezooijen.
